ITINERARY

Day 1: Lima.

On arrival at Lima international airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel, located in Miraflores the safest and nicest area of Lima.
Evening: Overnight in Lima.

Day 2: Tourist bus journey Lima - Ica (4 ½ hours).

6:20: transfer from your hotel to the bus station to board your tourist bus to Ica.
12:00: on arrival in Ica you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel.
Free afternoon to enjoy the sun, you can have a walk around Huacachina Oasis or try the sand boarding and the sand dune buggy ride!
Evening: Overnight in Ica.

Day 3: Ballestas Islands.

Early morning: you will be picked up from your hotel and driven by private car to Paracas bay from where you'll go by motorboat to Ballestas Islands and observe seabirds flying around, colonies of sea lions, and Humboldt penguins, on the way you will appreciate the candelabra, a pattern etched into the sand and rock of a hill!
11:00: Bus journey Paracas - Nasca
On your arrival in Nasca our representative will meet you and transferred to your hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Nasca.

Day 4: Flight over Nasca Lines (35 minutes )

Morning: Flight over the fantastic Nasca Lines for panoramic views of a monkey, a fish, a spider, a hummingbird and many drawings and geometric figures on the desert visible only from the air. The mystery of these huge figures in the desert continues even today.
Evening: Overnight tourist bus journey Nasca - Arequipa (9 hours).

Day 5: Arequipa - day to relax and acclimatize to the altitude (7,626 ft)

Morning: Arrival in Arequipa and transfer to your hotel. Free day to rest and get used to altitude.
Afternoon: Guided tour of Arequipa
You will have a half day guided tour of the beautiful colonial city of Arequipa that is surrounded by spectacular snow-covered mountains. The colonial buildings are built of "sillon" - a white volcanic rock - hence the nickname "the white city". We continue onto Santa Catalina Monastery (a city within a city).
Evening: Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 6: Colca Canyon

Am. Our English speaking Guide will pick you up from your Hotel in Arequipa to start your tour of the Colca Valley and Canyon. Colca Canyon is ten thousand feet deep. This is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in Arizona. At the bottom lies the champagne colored Colca River and the top consists of snow-covered mountains. On the way we will pass through Pampa Cañahua Reserve where Vicuñas, Alpacas & Llamas can be seen.
Afternoon: you are free to relax in the refreshing thermal waters.
Overnight in Chivay (11,800 ft).

Day 7: Condors-Arequipa

Am. After Breakfast, we go to the Cross of The Condor to see this most majestic Bird. Then we continue our way visiting some native villages & Pre-Inca Tombs.
Afternoon: journey back to Arequipa with spectacular views of the Sabancaya & Ampato
Volcanoes. We may be lucky and have snow!
Evening: Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 8: Tourist bus journey Arequipa - Puno (12,550 ft).

Transfer to the bus station to board your bus to Puno.
On arrival at Puno bus station you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Puno.

Day 9: Lake Titicaca & Overnight on Amantani Island.

Morning: After Breakfast, we board our motor boat on the highest navigable Lake in the world, our first stop will be on the floating Totora reed Islands of Uros, we continue to Amantani Island where we will spend the night with a local family.
Evening: Overnight on Amantani Island.

Day 10: Taquile Island – Puno

Morning: We continue to Taquile Islands where we will learn more about Pre-Inca culture. Afternoon back to Puno.
Evening: Overnight in Puno.

Day 11: Tourist bus journey Puno - Cusco (11,150 ft).

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the tourist bus station to board the bus to Cusco and have one of the most fabulous Andean journeys through spectacular views of the Andes Mountains and countryside, a memorable travel experience through the high Altiplano region!
On arrival at Cusco bus station you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Cusco

Day 12: Guided tour of Cusco and nearby Inca Ruins.

Afternoon: Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and show you the highlights of Cusco, the colonial cathedral, the great temple of Korikancha and the 4 impressive Inca ruins around Cusco, Sacsayhuaman, with its massive walls, Qenko, site of carved living rock, Puca Pucara, an Inca lodging Site & Tambo Machay, known as the Baths of the Inca. Our expert guides will make sure you get the most of these special places.
Evening: Overnight in Cusco.

Day 13: Guided tour of the Incas’ sacred valley.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your and driven to the Incas’ sacred valley, visiting the famous Indian Market of Pisac where you'll be able to interact with the local families or buy handicraft, souvenirs, learn about the local culture, see the native villages and have a guided tour of Ollantaytambo Fortress, an incredible Royal Inca site where the Incas made one of their last stands against the Spanish.
Evening: Overnight in Cusco.

Day 14: Machu Picchu.

Early morning: you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the train station to board the Vista dome train to Aguas Calientes (the base town of Machu Picchu).
Guided tour of Machu Picchu (8,200 ft).
On your arrival at the train station you will be met by your guide and have a 25 minute bus journey to Machu Picchu, the most impressive and mysterious Inca Site where you will have a guided tour and learn about the history of this site, who lived here, how it was discovered in modern times and why the Spaniards never found it. You will have some insight into the various features of this sacred city and have free time to really enjoy yourself alone in this spectacularly located site, an unforgettable experience that will stay with you forever!
Afternoon: Vista dome train journey back to Cusco.
On your arrival at Cusco train station you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Cusco.

Day 15: Flight Cusco Puerto Maldonado (Tambopata National Reserve).


Morning: Transfer to the airport to board your morning flight to Puerto Maldonado, the closest town to Tambopata Reserve.
On arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to Peruvian Safari's office (extra luggage will be stored here) where you will join the travel group and get ready for your adventure in Tambopata National Reserve. You will be driven to “Infierno” village where you will board a motorized dugout canoes and travel to Explorers’ Inn for 1 ½ hours on the way you may see Caymans, turtles and waterfowl, etc.
On arrival at Explorers’ Inn lodge you will enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and lunch (depending on time arrival you may have a box lunch on the boat).
Now you can feel you are in the deep inside pristine rain forest surrounded by its sounds and its magic. After lunch you will have a brief siesta to be ready for your first hike to a small lagoon and return in time to enjoy a jungle sunset at Sunset Point. When the sun has gone we will board the canoe for a short night ride to spot Caymans on the riverbanks please don’t forget to bring your flashlight! After this great experience you will have dinner, and the Resident Naturalists (RNs) and guides will be happy to answer questions or tell you more about the secrets of the Amazon rain forest.
Evening: Overnight in Explorer’s Inn.

Day 16: Tambopata Reserve.

After an early breakfast, your guide will lead you to Cococha oxbow lake, during this 3½ mile hike you will observe exotic plants and insects, colorful butterflies and birds, monkeys and, with some luck even some of the large mammals. On arrival at the lake you can have a guided canoe ride to watch the giant river otters and the wildlife on the shoreline. Return to the Explorers Inn for a late lunch.
Afternoon: free for relaxing or independent activities.
Evening: Overnight in Explorer’s Inn.

Day 17: Tambopata Reserve Puerto Maldonado, flight to Lima.

Today is your last day in Tambopata so you will have a very early wake up and breakfast. You will board our canoe to return to Puerto Maldonado on the way you will watch an unforgettable dawn on the Tambopata River.
On arrival in Puerto Maldonado, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima.
On arrival at Lima airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel in Miraflores, the bustling, cosmopolitan area of the city.
The afternoon is yours, you may be want to enjoy an evening meal overlooking the elegant Parque Kennedy, go shopping in Larco Mar (one of the most beautiful shopping centers in the world) located by the Pacific ocean; or you may wish take a stroll down the beach.
Evening: Overnight in Lima.

Day 18: Lima Tour-Flight back home.

After breakfast, we will drive you downtown into the city of the Kings; our English speaking guide will help you to get to know the Plaza de Armas, with the baroque cathedral, the Palacio de Gobierno (Governors Palace), the Archbishop's Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and the convent of San Francisco, whose bright yellow facade covers a grisly secret. Underneath the convent lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery for the whole of Lima during the colonial period!
Evening flight back home
Transfer at any time to the airport to board your flight back home.
