ITINERARY
Day 1: Lima.
On arrival at Lima international airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Lima.
Day 2: Flight Lima Cusco (11,150 ft).
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your early morning flight to Cusco.
On arrival at Cusco airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel, located in the center of Cusco. You will have a free day to just rest and relax.

Day 3: Free day in Cusco.

Day 4: Start Salkantay Trek.
5:30 AM, this morning we will pick you up from your hotel and drive for approx 3 hours to Mollepata village, situated in the Apurimac river valley and over 9000 feet above sea level; here we will have breakfast and meet our Quechua folks who will have the horses (to carry the equipment) ready to start our adventure!
After some rest, we start our trek heading to Sayallapata (11,000 feet above sea level), it will take approx 4 hours to arrive at this Andean community where will have an Andean lunch!
After lunch, we continue our trek to Soraypampa (13000 feet above sea level) for about 2 hours where we will camp our first night and have dinner.

Day 5: Soraypampa - Qollpapampa Salkantay
After having breakfast, we start our second day of adventure toward the Salkantay Mountain Pass (14,842 feet above sea level) for about 2 hours from where we will enjoy the most amazing views of the snow-capped Salkantay Mountain, then we will start descending towards our second camp site at Qollpapampa (9482 feet above sea level), a beautiful place with natural hot springs.

Day 6: Qollpapampa La Playa
Today, we will have an easy trek along the Santa Teresa River, enjoying beautiful scenery through this forest, passing a beautiful water fall, observing banana trees and coffee plantations. After a stop to have lunch and rest, we will pass by the passion fruit fields. In the afternoon we arrive at our next camp site located in the village of La Playa (7,068 feet above sea level).

Day 7: La Playa – Aguas Calientes
After having breakfast, we cross the river and continue to the village of Lucmabamba, a gradual uphill climb through lush sub-tropical forest leads us to Llactapata (8,700 feet above sea level), from where we will enjoy a back - side view of Machu Picchu and have time to rest. A descending trail will bring us to the Hydroelectric of Santa Teresa where we will have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will take the local train to Aguas Calientes (45 minutes). Upon arrival, you will be accommodated in a hotel (included on this package).
Evening: Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 8: Guided tour of Machu Picchu. Train journey back to Cusco (11,150 ft)
Early morning: short bus journey to Machu Picchu. In many ways today is the climax to your holiday. You will have a guided tour of the most amazing & mysterious of all Inca Sites. You will learn about the history of this site, who lived there, how it was discovered in modern times and why the Spaniards never found it. You will have some insight into the various features of the city and after that you will have some free time to really enjoy yourself alone in this spectacularly located site. This is an unforgettable experience that will stay with you forever.
Afternoon: Train journey back to Cusco.
On arrival in Cusco, you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Day 9: Flight Cusco – Lima.
Transfer to the airport to board your morning flight to Lima.
On arrival at Lima airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to Miraflores, the bustling, cosmopolitan area of the city from where you will start you afternoon Lima tour.
Lima Tour:
We will drive you downtown into the city of the Kings; our English speaking guide will do his best for you to know Lima: the Plaza de Armas, with the baroque cathedral, the Palacio de Gobierno (Governors Palace), the Archbishop's Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and the convent of San Francisco, whose bright yellow facade covers a grisly secret. Underneath the convent lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery for the whole of Lima during the colonial period!
Evening flight back home:
Transfer at any time to the airport to board your flight back home.
